On behalf of the EU-Network of Excellence NANOFUN-POLY we are pleased to present the program of the:

2nd International Symposium on “Nanostructured and Functional Polymer-based Materials and Nanocomposites” (NANOFUN-POLY)

which is taking place
in Lyon, FRANCE,
from May 29 th to 31 th 2006.

With the 2nd International Symposium NANOFUN-POLY, we would like to establish a platform for scientific exchange and to pool expertise in this important field of material science. Special care and devotion has been given to identify and promote promising young scientists and to establish a close interaction with the industry.

Applications for oral and posters contributions are requested in the field of nanostructured polymers (synthesis and design), as well as characterization and application of nano-structured and functional polymer-based materials.

The following topics are concerned:

Polymer Chemistry of nanostructured polymers
  • New monomers
  • New precursors (copolymers, dendrimers, hyperbranched polymers, microgels, nanoclusters)
  • Polymerisation routes – chain polymerisation, polycondensation, free radical and radical polymerisation, sol-gel, etc.
  • Formulation
Polymer Processing of nanostructured polymers
  • Intelligent and integrated processing
  • Environmentally friendly processing techniques
  • Processing nanocomposites
  • Coatings
  • Patterning of polymer surfaces
Nanostructure-Property Relationships
  • New techniques of nanoscale characterization
  • Rheology at different scales
  • Molecular modelling and related simulation techniques
Applications of nanostructured polymers and nanocomposites
  • Structural materials
  • Functional coatings
  • Membranes
  • Optical and electrical devices
  • Bioactivity
Life Cycle Engineering of Nanostructured Polymers

The program will include a limited number of invited lectures and about 60 contributed lectures will be selected. In addition, a long poster session and breaks will be scheduled for intensive discussions and for making contacts.

Please, note that oral and poster contributions are welcome until March, 15th

We are looking forward to meeting you in Lyon for an interesting and stimulating symposium and wish you all already now a good journey! We cordially invite all of you not having registered yet to join us!!
